Exciting news.. Matt has come fourth in Artists & Illustrators Artist of the Year competition for his painting of Campbell the dog. Over a thousand entries were received and just 50 were judged in the final selection for the competition. He wins a share of £500 of art materials courtesy of online art materials retailer GreatArt. “Watercolour is perhaps the trickiest medium for keeping colours fresh and distinct,” the magazine writes, “so we were particularly impressed with the control shown in the fluid brush marks of the dog’s fur and the detailed books on the shelving in the background.”
The painting will be exhibited and will feature in the Artists & Illustrators exhibition in January 2014 at the Mall Galleries, London. The exhibition itself will be open to the public from 6th – 19th January 2014, daily 10am – 5pm
