Working with three schools all at once means my new art projects all come to an end at the same time. As we finish term 2, Projects over many year groups for KINGS FOREST PRIMARY, STAPLE HILL PRIMARY and THE MEADOWS PRIMARY all need to be displayed for the new term in 2023.
I am SO proud of ALL my students, They have all worked so hard and achieved great results this term. These are just a selection of pieces from topic/term subjects such as AUTUMN, POWER & RULE, COMMUNICATION, FREEDOM and WAR ARTISTS.

My painting AUTUMN LEAVES has been made into a beautiful large print and framed by Yellowmoon Galleries/Pricelis Art. It looks amazing, even if I do say so myself.

This piece had a sad story, I worked in an art shop and a customer came in looking for someone who could paint a portrait, I volunteered myself and he looked at my folio,. He then produced just four photographs,. He said these were all the pictures he had of his son as a young man,. The boy had recently died suddenly of leukaemia at 17.. I looked at the photos and was drawn to this image,. It was casual and chilled and somehow, comforting. The man left and this is the painting I produced,. It was quite big (about A2, acrylic on canvas board), when the father came back to pick up the painting,. Out of respect I took him into the shop gallery to show him, I was so nervous,. A lot was hanging on this moment, I unveiled the picture and there was silence.. he looked at me… and burst into tears… I didn’t know what to do, my instinct was to hug him, but I didn’t know him,,. I fought back tears and said I’d give him a minute. He came out with the painting and said it would be in his family for the whole of his life. This was 30 years ago. I’ve just rediscovered this copy..
it still moves me.

Art With Mr Jeanes 2022- This was our term 1 art project for Year 6 at Staple Hill Primary.
The idea was to use DOODLE ART to represent each person with an image of their likes and loves in full colour, then on a separate coloured piece of paper,. to write anything to do with FREEDOM in a single colour, Then Draw around hands and position the loves piece on top to represent our own freedom.. I think they did a great job.

After painting murals in the library of HANHAM ABBOTS PRIMARY and a character mural for the library of SAMUEL WHITE’S INFANTS, I was asked to come up with another ‘original’ design for the large lunch rooms at the school,. This included a large mural incorporating key characters to the school (Hedgehog, Badger, Fox and Owl) and story elements to incorporate a second room, mezzanine and complimentary surroundings. It was quite a big job taking a good 5 days,. but all done,. it’s a great feeling to return to my old infants and primary schools and leave a mark after 55 years.

Working with my talented Year 5 students at Kings Forest this year, we worked on a soft pastel and silhouette collage in the style of artist Janet Brooke. We tied it in with their required reading of the book ROOFTOPS, these are some of their results.
